HANNAH'S HEROES - CHT SCOTLAND FC WIN CIBSE 2010 WORLD CUP
Undaunted by our national team’s failure to qualify for this year’s FIFA finals, CHt Scotland FC set out for Liverpool this month to take part in the
alternative CIBSE Building Services 2010 World Cup, an event held in aid of the Everyman (male cancer) charity.
Held recently at University of Liverpool, our motley crew of cluggers were undefeated over their 7 games, accumulating 17 goals in the process, with the
sweetest being the 3-1 win over CHt England in the final to win the 2010 trophy!
Leading the pack was Danny McGoalgetter who scored 12 goals and lifted the coveted “Golden Boot “award for leading goalscorer.
Commenting on their success, Derek Hannah, Director of Football, said:
"he was thrilled that his team tactics had resulted in such an emphatic win. Not since 1966 had such a result been achieved" and that he "was relieved
to have retained his Managers position," (unlike some of his peers elsewhere currently on another foreign stage!)
On a disappointing note he regretted the fact that he had not "done the treble" and won the "Manager of the Tournament" award, allegedly due to his disposition
towards using "wee sweary words" to motivate his players in the finer arts of football etiquette.
